Itsy Bitsy Spider

The itsy bitsy spider climbed up the water spout
Down came the rain, and washed the spider out
Out came the sun, and dried up all the rain
So the itsy bitsy spider climbed up the spout again.

Incy Wincy Spider climbed up the tree
Down came the snow and made poor Incy freeze
Out came the sunshine, and melted all the snow
So Incy Wincy Spider had another go.

History:

Recital of the poem is frequently shared with events instead of the words. For the primary (and last) line, alternately touch the thumb of one hand to the index finger of the other. For "Down came the rain" grasp both hands up and wiggle the fingers as you lower the hands. For "washed the spider out" brush the hands to the side. For the third row carry both hands up and after that to the sides to brush out a semi-circle (the sun). Itsy Bitsy Spider is a well-liked nursery school rhyme which describes the adventures of a spider as it ascends, descends and reascends the downspout of a drain structure or, otherwise, the spout of a teapot.
